Hidden Mickey’s and others in the decor

It was my daughter and hubby’s 1st time at Disney World, so I told them all about the hidden Mickey‘s all throughout the parks and hotels and that it’s fun to try to spot them. The most common form is the simplest of Mickey round face and 2 round circles for ears…

When you are surrounded by so many people and enjoying the ride itself it’s hard to pay attention to these… Some of them I wasn’t able to take a picture of, since on some rides you aren’t supposed to πŸ˜‰ You can click on the photos to see them full size so you can spot the silhouettes better…

At Magic Kingdom Park:

1. On the Haunted Mansion attraction at Liberty Square. When you approach the room where you have to look down and there is a table with a ghost blowing out candles and others are dancing around… On the corner of the table look at the place settings, they are forming Mickey’s silhouette. (blink and you’ll miss it)

2. On the Buzz Lightyear ride in Tomorrowland. There’s a globe where the countries are morphed together with silhouette of Mickey. Someone said that the green planet is also looking like a Mickey, I missed that one.

Mickey Silhouettes

3. On Main Street during their “Move it! Shake it! Celebrate it! Street Party” while you are dancing to the music, look closely at the Parade cars where your favorite characters are riding on, there are several Mickey silhouettes around each car.

The most obvious ones are on the car where Mickey and Minnie are riding (see 1st pic on Left).

Find the little Mickey Silhouettes on the bottom of the car

The silhouettes are also present on all the other cars too, as you can see on the pics below.

Harder to see the little Mickey's here...

At Epcot Center Park:

Meet and Greet Minnie Mouse

1. At the “Epcot Character Spot” when you take your picture with Minnie Mouse, take a look at the background… On the cell phone that reminds me of the old Motorola Razor… You can see that the buttons form a Mickey Silhouette!

Meet and Greet Goofy

2. Same place when you meet with Goofy, the constellations where the rocket is launching also form a Mickey silhoutte.

Meet and Greet Donald Duck

3.Same place when you meet with Donald Duck, all the machines in the background look like faces, but one of them is a Mickey Silhouette. In my pic you can see it right next to Donald’s arm.

4. The iron tables at the France Pavillion have Mickey Silhouettes in them, not as easy to spot because they look upside down.

5. In the Moroccan Pavillion, at one of the stores there are 3 plates that are hanging from a wall that form the Mickey Silhoutte

Sodas from around the World

6. Go to Club Cool in Future World West, it’s not advertised on the map, but it’s a cool store where you can sample free coca-cola products from around the world. When you are tasting the sodas look at the drink dispenser, silhouette of Mickey there!

Also on the different candies they sell, like the mood chocolate.

Of course there are a bunch more that others have encountered, but those were mine. Since spotting those are a bit complicated, we made the game easier and more fun for my daughter see below.

We stayed at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, so as a game I told my daughter we had to find all the hidden characters around the decor in the hotel, and we took a picture of all the ones we encountered!

Part 1 – In our room!

We discovered this one when Jeff our bellman said to my daughter as she got on to the bed “Watch out! You are going to crush Tinkerbell!!”. At first I didn’t see Tink, but once you find her, it’s hard to miss her all over the bedspreads. Click on the photo so you can see it large, this was one of my favorite finds of hidden characters…

Careful not to crush Tinkerbell when you lay on your bed!

In our bathroom, this one was more obvious, although with everything that was on the counter I didn’t notice it at first.

Our wash clothes form a Mickey!

This one wasn’t exactly hidden per se, but we liked the Mickey lamps. You can also purchase one if you so desire, according to the pamphlet in the room.

In the Hallway there are several instances where you can see different Disney Characters.

On the wall:

Hidden Mickey's on the wallpaper

On the floors:

Top 1/2 of the rug outside our room - 3 characters visible
bottom 1/2 of the rug - another 3 characters.

In the Main Lobby of the hotel there are several characters to be found as well. On our last day, we had some time while we waited for our time on the Disney Express to take us back to the airport. so to entertain my daughter who was a bit sad about leaving the most magical place on earth I made up a game where I told her that we had to find every single character in the Main Building.Β  So our hunt began and we looked on both floors in every single corner of the place, here is what we found:

Mickey's on the main lobby rugs
Look up! On the stained glass
Collage of characters found in the Main Lobby entrance
Collage of characters found in the main building

And that concludes are hunt for characters in the decor of Disney! We had a lot of fun looking for these, as you have to pay close attention to details to find a lot of these, and it’s rewarding to find them.

What I was trying to teach my daughter is that things aren’t always what they seem, that it’s good to “stop and smell the flowers” to pay attention to details is rewarding and worth it, and that there are several things we can play that don’t involve electronics, or actual physical games, that we need to use our imagination, because there is a whole other world out there that we don’t even bother to see. I can say that even though we aren’t at Disney anymore she has found a couple things that look like Mickey’s in our surroundings and it’s a great chuckle to find them and remind ourselves of our lovely family trip!
