A Smurfy kind of Birthday

Good Morning princess - you may open 1 present!

I grew up loving the Smurfs, so of course I’ve introduced them to my daughter, thank goodness that Cartoon Network puts them on every so often!  So when I heard a new movie was going to come out I told her about it and she decided that she wanted a smurf themed birthday.

Since the real birthday day was on a Friday, I took the day off and we started her special celebration with opening One present!

It was NOT easy to find any smurf items in the stores, but Amazon is always there to save the day! we bought a couple mushroom houses and some character sets (from the 80s of course!) and that was what I was going to use to decorate the cake at the birthday party.

We got ready for our outings… 1st stop Breakfast at Shipley Donuts

Followed by Build-a-bear, where they didn’t have any Smurfette’s left anymore (very bummed) and we had to find something else to create, which is how we came up with Sherbert!

Then it was lunch time! We met with Papi at Pluckers and had the birthday celebration lunch, where we had the staff sing and all, that was fun!

Papi had to go back to work unfortunately, but bday girl and I continued the fun by going to the theatre to watch the Smurfs Movie!

I say it was a long day of fun and more fun, but that wasn’t the end of the celebrations… It was present opening time!

A Gift from Ollivanders in London? Hmmm What could that be?
A build-a-bear closet so everything is neatly put away (I Like that!) - It comes with lots of stickers so she decorated it!

And the grand finale of all presents, an unexpected but over due one, came in a simple white envelope…

Your friends at Disney are cordially inviting you... to the most Magical place in the world... PS pack your bags you leave Thursday!

I was expecting some yelling and screaming and jumping… but instead there was silence, some choking up while trying to read what the letter said, a looking at me and the rest of the family with a “Is this real?, are you serious? Are you really taking me?” Then with tears running down her cheeks, she ran to hug me and said “this is the best present ever! Thank you thank you thank you!!  Oh and then it was my turn to shed some tears… Then it got rowdy as we all started talking about all the things we wanted to do and see.  What a good way to finish a birthday night.

And we didn’t even mention the huge party yet! 🙂
