Thankfulness today comes from a phone call away…

Today I called my Mom and Dad because it’s been a week since I’ve talked to them since they were out wine touring the Ribera del Duero (insert jealousy) on my part.

It’s so nice to talk to my parents, it really is, I know that not everyone has a great relationship with their parents, but I’m blessed with having a good one and I love it.

My Dad picked up the phone, which having a conversation in Castilian Spanish is happiness to my ears just to begin with, and he gives me the scoop about all they did, what he liked, what he didn’t, what they bought (can’t wait to ransack the bodega next time I go!) and then it’s my turn to talk about Halloween, the theme for this year being Movie characters and our costumes and the party in general.

Then it’s Mom’s turn and I get all the gossip, like my friend is expecting her 1st born in April kind of thing. And we talk about Halloween again and plans for Thanksgiving (which made me hungry) and some gossip here and there and about work and how Impact planning and execution has started and same old same old thing.

Hearing them on the phone feels like they are so close, yet I know they are so far, but still a phone call away which is comforting until vacation time comes around and we are blessed with their presence 🙂

And that’s what I’m thankful for today, a great conversation with Mom and Dad.

Oh look at that it’s time to make dinner, not sure what that will be I’m a tad non inspired and in mood for Thai food… if I have the right ingredients I might just make pad Thai.
