Things to be thankful for – Day 25

It was another gorgeous day in Austin. That alone is something to be thankful for.

We ate a breakfast of champions this morning: Scrambled eggs with spinach, ham and lots of cheese. Also a nice glass of orange juice, and some blueberries.

The girls were allowed an hr of playing Little Big Planet while I cleaned up the kitchen from the mess of cooking thanksgiving dinner… One hour became 2hrs as they wanted to make their own world… But as I find playing any video game with 3 people can be challenging as one always wants to go faster than the others, one knows how to play better, and one just gets left behind because probably are a bit young for the game… Anyway as I’m trying to tune out all the noise and drama while cleaning up, I finally had to tell them sorry, game over I’m done with all the drama go find something else to do.  And with a blink of an eye they were off drawing, nice!

Chillin' in the Jeep!

When I was done I asked them if they wanted to come out and decorate. So I let them put all the decorations on the outside trees and brought out some sidewalk chalk. Our driveway is now decorated with Christmas theme (Hope it doesn’t storm tomorrow as they said it would).  The weather was so perfect that they hoped on bikes and the jeep and played in the cul-de-sac some more. Burn that energy kiddos is what I thought, but it’s fun to watch them have so much fun running around.

Chalk and the driveway

By the time we went back inside as it was getting a little chilly it was time to let them soak in the bathtub. Get all that chalk off them, how do kids get sooooo dirty? My “adopted for the week” girls thought it was weird that in this house after taking a bath I make them run into the shower and wash their hair and rinse off their bodies… But if you saw the color of the water you would  have done the same too (I would hope anyway). Then they got all prettied up for dinner.

Thanksgiving part 2 was the indulgence for dinner again. So yummy! We had Danielle over (no Bob since he was working) and we finished up almost all the left overs.  We had fun 🙂 Then it was time to watch a Christmas story, “Elf” was chosen.  We all laughed. Then it was time to get those kiddos tucked in with the hopes for sleeping since it was around 10:30ish. They seemed tired, but I could hear giggles every know and then.  Giggles is one of the best thing you can hear out of kids, because you know they are genuinely having a good time. And giggles, laughter, playtime, creativity is ALL I heard throughout today with an occasional splash of drama.

And for all that fun we had I am very thankful (oh and tired!)
