Things to be thankful for – Day 26

It rained and rained and rained last night, a good much needed down pour. And it continued to drizzle throughout the day which made it feel like a cozy day to stay inside and not do much.

Good thing that the girls spent the last 3 days doing things outside so it was ok to stay in today. So we all played Uno for awhile, that was fun! And we ate Turkey soup which was really yummy. And they played dress up, and picked up a little of the mess they had going on upstairs everywhere… which was something I was really thankful for.

I washed the girls clothes, which when there are 3, that’s a lot of shirts, socks, and so on… And the best part is that we spent the entire day in PJs and that was perfectly fine since the girls were all wearing pretty night gowns anyway (they make me laugh).

We didn’t know what to do in the afternoon after we played so many games, so we decided to watch a movie. The one they chose was Despicable Me, we’ve only watched it a billion times, good thing I like it! 10 minutes into the movie and I thought something is missing… The popcorn!! yep I made 2 big bowls of popcorn for the 5 of us and we gobbled it down.

We didn’t want to eat anything turkey related for dinner so we all agreed Pizza was a good treat for us, so we ordered Pizza and we gobbled it down as if we hadn’t eaten anything all day… crazy considering how we’ve been stuffing ourselves with yummy thanksgiving food past few days and for desert we had Nutella tacos hehehe yummy.

And then as promised I took the girls around the neighborhood to see houses with Christmas lights. It’s a bit early in the season, but there were still several houses that had lights. We went through every single street in Parkside, and we had 2 favorite houses, the one in our cul-de-sac and the corner house a couple blocks up from our house (that one is our favorite every year).  Then we ventured to Creekside, not much happening here and we lost our 5 y/o to the ZZZZZs land.  The other 2 didn’t want to go home though so we continued on to Brookside (Lovely houses here btw) there were several houses with pretty lights around here, probably the most decorated subdivision, then we went to Morningside where it seemed as if every other street was a cul-de-sac so we decided to nickname it  cul-de-side. We then took a peek at Westchester, which is really one street that ends in a cul-de-sac and then a tiny other street with a dead end, only 1 house was decorated with ugly lights if we might add and we nicknamed this sub division Tinyside. On our way back we went though WatersEdge (nicknamed boring side) and back home. We went out for 1.5hrs, the girls had a blast critiquing lights and nicknaming subdivisions and streets with funny names…  This was my favorite part of the day 🙂
