So for November I reflected upon the daily things that I was grateful for and that was a positive experience.
Reflecting back on all the topics I noticed that I have a recurring theme of thankfulness for my daughter, family and friends, that my mood is very influenced by the weather and that I really am grateful for sleeping, mostly in the forms of afternoon naps. I guess not only the people who stopped by to read my blogs learned something about me, but I learned something about myself as well.
So for the month of December I decided I want to post a tradition of how my family and I gear towards the holidays we enjoy so much.
So here for the 1st day of December I want to share a family tradition.
After dinner, we make hot cocoa for dessert and watch ABC Family countdown towards Christmas. This year featuring one of my favorite Christmas movies of all time: The Santa Clause. Love Tim Allen in general, and just love the idea of how Scott Calvin (Tim Allen) becomes Santa. It’s great, we laugh and it just brings great Christmas mood into the air.
Today was also special as when Carolina came home from school she found a big box from La Tienda when she arrived, I told her goodies from Spain had arrived! She helped me get the box out (Was kind of hard and heavy) and then I let her peek into the box, I captured her surprise face with a candid shot 😉
Jamon and Torta del Casar (this cheese is from the region where my Dad is from) some of our family favorites. I grew up having a whole leg of Jamon in our kitchen in the winter and I loved every second of it. It was the best snack ever after school, and the best to have along with dinner, and really just at any time! And of course I’m proud to say my mini me is no different from myself and we got Hubby hooked too!
Needless to say I put it on the Jamon holder, sliced some up and we ate it with bread and tomato “Pan con tomate” and that was heavenly dinner for me 🙂 I almost want to go back into the kitchen and sneak another slice!
