Today is the day where Girl Scouts in Central Texas are out selling cookies in their neighborhoods, because ’tis the season for Cookies!  Amongst all those girls out there, 7 belong to Girl Scout Junior Troop 2093!

This weekend they got together at my house for an intensive cookie rockin’ day. We were on a mission to get them a patch of honor for their vests. So they learned about setting goals, types of cookies, marketing, sales, booths and most important of all teamwork! They created 2 posters that will be used in the upcoming booth selling that they will be doing and they worked together to come up with the idea, the materials they wanted to use and the importance of the type of information that should go on an advertising poster. Things like who you are (Troop 2093), what you are selling (Girl Scout cookies), how much do they cost ($4), stick to a theme (in this case this year it’s dolphins) and of course it has to attract the eye which is what their imagination was perfectly used for. Needless to say I’m very proud of the final product, check it out!

This year we have all new boxes that tell the girl scout story, so check out the boxes when you buy some from a booth or your friendly girl scout neighbor. As you know we sunset the ShoutOuts but we have a new cookie for all you Mango lovers out there: Mango Cremes with NutriFusion™

Our Troop are selling cookies not only to learn the skills mentioned, but they are saving up for their troop Spring campout trip to Fossil Rim. They are very excited and hope to be able to raise enough money to achieve their goals. At this campout the girls will be learning about wild life animals, plants, sleep over, make smores and have team bonding time while learning, having fun and earning a patch or two. With that said we learn a lot about selling, but I wanted to leave you with a short video on what you can do as a buyer to help these girls gain more people skills, not be shy and enjoy their experience even more!
