A visit to the “Ermita del Risco”

7/7/2012 So many years living in Caceres when I was young, so many years coming to visit my family and I had never gone up the trail to the top of the Mountain to visit the Ermita del Risco. Really it’s a shame because the views of Caceres and it’s surrounding towns is spectacular! So…

Euro 2012 Quarter-finals: Spain vs France

#Euro2012

Yesterday was an exciting day, not only because Spain was playing in the Quarter-finals in the Eurocopa (#Euro2012), but because we were playing against France. A rival that somehow seemed that we needed to beat, revenge from 2000 eurocup 😉Image

Anyway, our dear friend Monica hosted us in her house for the game, they all supported my team, wore red, the food and the decor was Spanish and Mediterranean fitting, what more could I ask for!ImageImage

What more could I ask for? An awesome goal from Xabi Alonso that’s what! At first I thought the intent of goal was lost, but no, a super pass and a headshot from Xabi right pass the goalie that made us all jump out of the seats to say GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!! Beyond exciting! this gave Spain the sense of we got this win in our back pocket, and now we just need to score some more.

Xabi to the rescue a second time! Great Penalty shot putting us at 2-0 that was maintained having France back their bags and head on home! I changed my cover photo in Facebook to the one below. A photo that my dad sent me the night before in mental preparation for the game the following day! I was going to post it to my wall immediately, but I wanted to wait for the win, because I thought it would be that much more meaningful, or at least to me!

Next step of the afternoon was to finish up the Sangria, before we started with the mojitos. Have to put those bar-tending skills to good use ya know 😉

And the grand finale grilling some meat and veggies – mmmmm what a great end to an awesome day! Image

Thank you friends! You are truly the Best!
