Roadtrip Day 1

Mandarina is in my suitcase!

Usually I don’t pack the same day I’m leaving for a trip… but work has been crazier than usual.

As I attempted to  get all packed my trusty companion slept in the suitcase as usual, one day I will open my suitcase to find her all curled up in there, happy I didn’t leave her behind Ha!

Leaving work early to pick up the girls at school was a great way to start the vacation!

Their faces alone as I picked them up with a Grin from side to side was priceless! We were all so excited we just really wanted to get on the road asap! I made the girls these mini scrapbooks so they can record their thoughts, drawings, collectibles and later on add their pics to it!

Fully loaded car with suitcases, snacks, electronics, blankets, pillows, drinks, books… The Tahoe is just as excited as we are for its 1st road trip!

Mind you that getting out of Texas alone is an adventure, since Austin is right about in the middle. So leaving in the afternoon was really a good idea. We didn’t encounter hardly any traffic leaving Austin and we made it to Houston way past their traffic so all in all everything started out perfect, we even got to experience a beautiful sunset while on the road, which when you are in the middle of nowhere with those beautiful Texas skies, is priceless (see pic above in the header).

Of course on a roadtrip through Texas, dinner was at Whataburger because we all  love hamburgers with bacon in them!  We drove to the edge of Texas: Beaumont and stayed at the Hampton Inn which was very convenient for our 1st night out.

Hubby connected our gadgets and we watched Hunger Games, it’s nice that as a Hilton honors member we get free wifi, water bottles and a nice breakfast. Love perks all in all! If you travel, I recommend you sign up for their membership, it’s free and has a lot of nice perks, in my humble opinion it’s one of the best hotel reward programs out there.

Day 2 will be action packed in Louisiana, with a couple surprises for the girls, can’t wait to share more! good night! 🙂

Thats lovely! I too love road trips and can totally relate to the excitement, with all the things in your car and the freedom to cruise anywhere you want.

Yep for sure! I haven’t been on a long roadtrip since I was a kid, but it really is awesome!
